Winters Tale

From the moment you step foot inside Winters Tale Country Barn you’ll receive a warm and friendly welcome from every single member of our team.  

It’s our mission to transform all your ideas and dreams into reality to help you create a magical wedding day which will be fondly remembered and treasured for years to come.

We have the most incredible team of professionals who are experienced, loyal and passionate so we will all enjoy your day just as much as you!


Director & Venue Owner

As the owner of the business Christine is the main driving force behind the success of Winters Tale Country Barn. Having hosted several weddings on site before the barn was built, she was inspired to build our wedding venue here on the site of the original hay barn. 

 She has a breadth of experience across diverse industries but most recently in sales and marketing. Her multi skilled background and endless amounts of energy enable her to keep many plates spinning! 

She adopts a hands-on approach and is always looking for new innovative ideas to grow the business and keep it fresh & exciting. 

She loves seeing the individuality our couples can bring to make their wedding or event totally unique here.

Christine enjoys travelling abroad and spending time catching up with her family either entertaining at home or dining out. She also enjoys a peaceful early evening walk through the fields with her dogs appreciating all that nature has to offer.

Her husband Bill although not at the front end of the business provides a supportive role and gives invaluable advice behind the scenes and we invariably draw on his experience in art and design gained from almost 30 years working for BBC Television at White City.


Our Wedding & Event Executives

Our wedding and event executives will be there offering you guidance and support right from the initial stages of your wedding planning journey through to assisting you with pre- wedding day set up and of course coordinating on the important wedding day itself! Their extensive experience will allow you to sit back, relax and enjoy the journey knowing you are in super capable hands…  


Wedding & Events Executive

Gail had a background in hospitality and hairdressing services before embarking on a career in the family business assisting with the initial set up and launch and has been a key player ever since.  Her resourcefulness and positive attitude with the operational side have contributed to the success & growth of the business.

She just loves being part of the whole journey with you and will help ensure your wedding day runs like clockwork. She always has a smile on her face and keeps everyone entertained in the office! 

Gail loves trips to Disneyland having been to both the US & Paris several times. She enjoys spending time with her husband and young daughter and ever-growing family of French Bulldogs – currently three. She is a real foodie and has been known to manage dining out twice in one day!



Wedding & Events Executive 

Caroline had a background in fashion retail & finance before she stepped into the world of wedding planning where she trained & achieved a professional qualification. She gained firsthand experience in a hotel environment before establishing her own wedding planning business having worked with numerous clients across a variety of venues before joining the team here. 

She is our organisational queen who absolutely loves a spreadsheet to help organise and plan your special day ensuring all the finer details are taken care of.

Her calming influence and friendly attitude will ensure your day will be just as you’d wished for and she always seeks perfection!

When not at work she enjoys a spot of retail therapy often combined with a trip to the theatre or checking out the latest restaurants! She loves to travel all over the world and especially enjoys her trips to Singapore.


Bar & Event Manager

Will is our multi-talented front of house bar & event manager who also has his own graphic design business and has produced many of the graphics around the venue. His friendly and sociable nature draws guests to the bar. He will ensure you and all your guests are well looked after on the drinks front & he will always be ready to throw in a dash of humour!

Will enjoys going on long walks with the dogs, attending summer music festivals and spending time socialising with his many friends.

He is supported by a talented team of waiting and bar staff along with our dedicated cocktail mixologists who will all do their utmost to make your day the best imaginable!


Wedding & Events Administrator

Alison’s multifaceted background ranges from office support in the IT industry to hosting her own radio show to teaching Salsa dancing. She currently provides us with invaluable administrative support helping to keep the office running smoothly and efficiently.

In addition to her love for all things admin she is extremely passionate about makeup and has recently qualified as a Make Up Artist and is in the process of starting up her own mobile make-up artistry business. You will also find Alison front of house assisting as one of our senior waiting staff, always willing to assist, smiling and ready to look after you and your guests.

In her leisure time Alison adores looking after her Frenchie, has recently taken up ballet lessons and loves watching the NFL being a season ticket holder herself.


Facilities & Maintenance


Facilities Manager 

Alastair has come from a farming background having farmed the land locally with his family for many years. His role here as facilities manager involves ensuring the venue, grounds and accommodation cottages are well maintained to a high standard whilst assisting with the smooth running of the day-to-day operations of the venue.

He also plays an integral role on the wedding or event day itself aiding with the physical logistics on the day, being on hand to ensure everything runs without a hitch.

Alastair is an avid sports fan.


Maintenance Manager  

Peter ensures all areas of our venue are well maintained and kept in tip top condition. Part of his role is to assist with pre–event set up and clear down ensuring everything is in its place the day before your wedding and that all the bars are fully replenished. He will also be on hand after your event to ensure everything is restored to its clean & tidy state.

His prior experience in the construction industry and painting and decorating trade always means he carries out an excellent job as he is a real perfectionist!  

Peter is a keen music buff attending live gigs all over the country and is a huge fan of Bruce Springsteen having watched him numerous times all over the world!



Best day of our lives

We recently celebrated our wedding at Winter’s Tale Country Barn. From the first viewing we fell in love with the venue. Christine, Gail and Caroline were extremely helpful and fantastic at giving us useful advice throughout the whole process. There were regular meetings in the build up to the wedding and they were always open to helping with our ideas, suggestions and questions. The reception atmosphere was incredible and every guest commented on how magical the venue is. Best day of our lives.
